Question / Help Recording 60fps with 144hz monitor?

Hello!

So, I have a bit of a problem here, I'm trying to record my gameplay so when I upload it, it will be 1080p 60fps. So far I have the 1080p sorted but not the 60fps. Comparing my video to others it looks a bit cloppy, but I've tried setting the monitors refresh rate to 60fps (although this doesn't run smooth) and I've tried recording at 144fps.

I have a secondary monitor that is 60hz, but I'd hate to use that one as the 144hz monitor is my favorite. I have tried keeping obs open on one monitor then trying to keep it on the same monitor as the game I'm playing but still the end result is the same.

The game I'm trying to get footage off is league of legends, but the only problem is that I've recorded rocket league and thats came out fine at 60fps with no clopping what so ever.

Can anyone give me any recommendations? I'm still quite new to this recording stuffs :)

Here's my specs:

Operating System: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4930K CPU @ 3.40GHz (12 CPUs), ~3.4GHz
Memory: 32768MB RAM
Graphics Cards: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 (2)

Any advice/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Lucas :)

hmm, I haven't. Think that might help? I'll give it a go in a quick few minute recording and see how it turns out, I'll keep the thread updated :)

If you're just doing local recording with the CRF based settings for bitrate selection, ultrafast will maintain quality with reduced cpu use at the cost of increased disk space.

Fair warning, 60fps is not a full-integer divisor of 144, so you're going to get some frame stumbling no matter what. At 60fps it should be almost unnoticeable, but 72 and 48fps are the closest full-int rates (capturing every other, or every third frame instead of 60fps which will sometimes grab every other or every third, leading to an erratic rate).

Most likely just the Ultrafast thing though.

Tried using the ultrafast preset yet?
i have the same problem as lucas, however im using the nvec encoder and i do not have the same settings/presets like ultra fast and that i have different ones.
