Question / Help RECORDED VIDEO NOT PLAYABLE[OBS Studio]

So here is what happened. I was recording my gameplay and I do that a lot and everytime the videos are great but this is the second time my video is not playable. I've been recording for like 2 hrs and my game freezed i couldn't alt+4 i couldn't go to desktop to turn the game off and restart it again so i sign out of windows and the game including obs turned off so I restarted the game and i think the video is not playable because i did not click stop recording on OBS and the app turned off without fully closing the recording so any help on how to get my video to play?

Guess is, the file didn't close and its corrupted. If its MP4, no way to recover. Make sure you change the file format to MKV or FLV instead of MP4.

I'd be concerned that this happened twice and assume that you don't know what caused the problem this time, let alone the first time. Therefore, you have system instability to run OBS Studio and need to resolve that before doing any more recordings.

Some things to consider:
- You ran out of disk space
- You ran out of memory
- You need to update OBS Studio to current version
- You need to update Windows 10 to current version
- The game itself is unstable and causing your system to lock up
- You are overclocking and its locking up your system
- Your CPU/GPU pair is not strong enough to handle gaming and recording/streaming

If you ran out of disk space, do the following:
  • Empty the Recycle Bin
  • Clear the browser cache
  • Download Glary Utilities or CCleaner and go clean your system up
  • Consider installing a 512GB NVMe or SSD boot drive for Windows only and have secondary drives at least 4TB each
Again, it can be anything.

So i know what you are trying to say but OBS was not the problem at all. The game freezed becauze it is trash and it happens and because od that had to sign put and end all apps and tasks so that means the file is corrupted.. i guess i will chamge the format to FLV . Thank you.
