Recorded short video in OBS. Uploaded to YT. Resolution Bad?

I am planning to record AutoCAD tutorials and upload them to my Youtube channel. I just recorded a short video just to check the quality of the recording. I thought I might need to get a new microphone. But what I found after uploading it was the video resolution didn't look very good at all.

After recording the video, I opened it in the Default video player that came with my laptop. Following is a screenshot taken from that video player. The resolution looks reasonable to me. But the same video was uploaded to YT (only a minute or so long). The resolution looks terrible in the uploaded version. Is there something I need to do either in OBS or during the upload process to improve this?

EDIT: Yes, I'll be getting a better microphone. :)

Are you sure you're watching YouTube in the same resolution as you uploaded? Or does it think you need a lower one to stay smooth, because of a less-than-stellar connection or something like that? YT does that by default.

Forcing the highest available resolution, looks similar to me as your screenshot here.

Ding, Ding, Ding! That was it -- was set to Auto (360p) so I changed it to 720p and it looks fine now! I NEVER change the resolution when I watch a YT video so I never even thought to look there! When I've watched other people's YT videos. Is there a setting in YT Studio somewhere to tell it to play the video at the best possible resolution? I'm new to making videos for YT or otherwise so I'm unsure.

Thanks!

Never mind. I just found the issue. I ran the Auto-Configuration wizard, made a new video, uploaded that toy YT channel and played it. That version defaulted to the max resolution (720p).
