Hey guys, I need help. I've been trying to setup my obs to record gaming videos, but everytime I finish recording and review my footage, it is really laggy/stutter. I tried the solustions I found online, but none of them helped. And I also tried to recored different games, but the results are the same. My game runs fine when I record, no lag or stutter. The cpu usage at its highest when I record and play games at the same time is about 60% - 70%, the memory usage is less than 60%. I was recording GTA V on my laptop, and it worked fine, but on my PC which is more powerful than my laptop, it has this problem. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Please help me.

Here is how my footage looks (I don't know why it's not at 1080p):

I've attached my log file for this recording session down below

Here is my pc specs:
OS: MS Windows 10 Pro, 64-bit
CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-7700K CPU @ 4.20GHz, 4200 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 8 Logical Processor(s)
RAM: 16.0 GB
Graphics Card: GTX 1080 8GB GDDR 5X
Storage: 128GB SSD + 2TB HDD

Turn gaming mode off in windows' settings and switch the recording format back to flv.
Hey Harold, my windows gaming mode was turned off already. I've tried to record it to flv file, and it is still the same.

my bet is you have 144hz monitor. recording 60fps video basically requires that game runs 60fps WITH vsync

1. 60hz desktop refresh
2. 60 or 30 in obs
3. 60 in game if there is switch for it (like bf3, bf4, overwatch)
4. vsync in game on
(replace with 59,94 and 29,97 for 59,94 display like hdmi tv)
with 144hz monitor its fastest and most reliable to sacrifice 144 and follow 1,2,3,4

Thanks man, I've tried your tips, but it wasn't making much of difference.
I think I figuered it out, my video footage was just a little bit laggy, the main problem was the media player that I was playing my footage on is laggy/stutter. Now I just need to figure out how to fix my media player.

use vlc, it plays stuff smoothly
obs just idling in background can make playback choppy, close it
