Question / Help Recorded Game Audio Echo/Reverb

Hello everyone. I have a question about game audio. I haven't tested streaming with OBS just yet so this question so far applies to local recording.

There have been a few time where I try to just record gaming footage and the recorded videos audio sounds like it has an echo/reverb effect. But this seems to only happen sometimes when recording and not always.

To record my microphone I am using VoiceMeeter Banana and Audacity. I'm thinking maybe VoiceMeeter is interfering in some way but I have no real way of knowing for sure.

Perhaps there is a setting in OBS I overlooked, if so that sounds like an easy fix.

Any help would be very appreciated. Thank you.

You have Stereo Mix (aka What U Hear, or 'grab anything and everything coming out of my machine') set as your Auxiliary audio in, which it definitely shouldn't be if you're trying to pipe game audio through VB-Audio. That'd almost definitely double up game sound; one copy from VB-Audio, and one from Stereo Mix.

Could also something wonky with your VB-Audio/Voicemeeter config, but fix your aux audio setting first. Disable it or set it to an actual microphone if you plan to have commentary/live voiceover.
