Record webcam in seperate file.

I would like to record my gameplay in one scene and record my webcam in another as a different file. So gameplay in one file and webcam in another. Would this be possible with a plugin or would OBS have to have extra code?

By the way, any news/updates about using a external capture card (Hauppauge PVR) in OBS?

The problem is that webcams can't be open in two places at once on your computer. So either it can be added to your normal OBS scene, or recorded separately, but not both.

I just meant recorded separate from the original scene. Have one file record your desktop/game and the other on your webcam. This way it's a lot easier to edit footage.

Then why not use the webcam software to record the webcam video?

I can't set the resolution and bitrate plus it's not MP4, it's crappy WMV. The file size of WMV is terrible with the quality it gives vs MP4.

You can always run 2 instances of OBS by adding the -multi flag to the end of the target in the OBS shortcut.
