Yes, you read that right, I'm trying to record tapes from my mini dv camera (a canon zr45 mc) onto my hp pavilion laptop in 2020. I've been meaning to do this for a while, but I figured now would be a good time as ever. Anyways, I got this cheap little device called Easier CAP off of amazon which converts your typical audio l+r and video inputs into a usb 2.0 plug in device. I read a review that recommended using obs studio in place of the poor chinese software that comes with it, on a gamecube sized disc. Does anyone have experience doing something like this before? How would I go about setting this up so I can transfer these tapes onto my laptop? Using a brand new HP pavilion gaming laptop I bought this past black friday. Thanks!
