Record FaceTime Audio

I have already installed iShowU to capture my desktop audio, but when I try to record the audio from a FaceTime call it only pics up my side.
In an older thread I read something about LineIn but 10.15 isn't supporting it anymore.

I am pretty new to obs, so I would really appreciate your help.

thanks!

Be sure that FaceTime's audio output is explicitly set to use the iShowU audio device, and that your system's default sound output is not set to iShowU.

iShowU doesn't actually capture the computer's main audio output; it provides a fake second audio output that you can tell other apps to send sound into, and you can then capture its output from another app like OBS, kind of like a virtual audio patch cable.

when I set the FaceTime output to iShowU I can't hear it through my headphone. So I've created a multi-output device. Now I am able to hear it. The sound level for the desktop audio in ops still shows nothing but I can hear the FaceTime output afterwards on the recording. Is there some way to fix that? For interviews it would be nice to have some certainty that the recording is actually working.
