Hello there, I started to record a video like 35 minutes and the file size is about 40 GB, but before the same that I was recording has a lower file size in about 40-50 minutes like 6 or 7 GB video, also the game is not like an action game or fps game it's a normal game without fast movement.

here is my log file

The file size depends on the amount of detail of the material you record. In the encoder settings, increase the CQ value to reduce recorded detail. An increase by 3 halves the file size (more or less). Also, set Settings->Advanced->Color range back to partial, the default. This also reduces file size.

the problem is that I recorded a video before about 1 hour but only 6 GB file size.
btw I re-render my videos with VBR 18k bitrate, what CQP can be good?

Also, I recorded another video after this and I changed CQP to 18, and the file size still more than before that I was recording the same game with CQP 14.

this is the CQP 18 video log file, but i think something is going wrong in here

There is nothing wrong. You simply did change the encoder settings that result in bigger file sizes. If you used vbr or cbr in the past, you had a vastly reduced overall bitrate (while sacrificing much quality), so the file size was much smaller. If you compare the quality of your previous recordings, for example with screenshots of moving content, you will see a difference to a cqp=15 video. If you don't see any difference, increase the cq parameter until you see compression artefacts. The cq value can go up to 50.

well that's right, let me tell you something else, I recorded all vids in CQP 14 then I suddenly changed my CQP to 4 to test a 1min video to see how it looks then i created a 50minute video with that CQP 4 and the video was about 80 GB, then that updated my obs and I put CQP 14 again and the video was 37 GB, this is why I'm saying maybe something is going wrong.

thanks for the help, by the way i think i have to use CQP 25 or 30 cause i re-render my videos with VBR 16k Bitrate and the output of obs looks really different with re-rendered one
