Bug Report Random pauses during stream [resolved]

*Sorry if this is the incorrect place to post this!*

Hello, I have been trying to stream for a while now and I have been told by multiple people that my stream pauses frequently when on the air. I have tried adjusting several different options, such as lowering my bitrate, changing servers, not using CBR, downscaling my resolution. I have searched the forums for a solution but could not find one that solved my problem for good.

I tried streaming today at different settings, I started at 2000 with pausing problems and dropped to as low as 200 to see if I could at least eliminate the pausing. My friends told me that the 200 bitrate stopped the pausing, but I'd rather be uploading at 2000 kb/s ;)

If I left out any crucial information let me know, thank you for your time :)

Re: Random pauses during stream

Hi and thanks for the reply, these are the results:

Connected to server 4.71.251.149.

Estimating capacity:
Upstream: 5925 Kbps.
Downstream: 45865 Kbps.

The measurement will take upto 2.5 minutes. Please wait.

Checking for traffic shapers:

Upstream: No shaper detected.
Median received rate: 5786 Kbps.

Downstream: No shaper detected.
Median received rate: 45024 Kbps.

Re: Random pauses during stream

You can try the next best server (such as either Dallas server). Typically a 2k bitrate should be fine for most people to download. Some individuals may see interrupts if their internet cannot handle that rate, but that shouldn't be an issue really. It must be related to the server.

Re: Random pauses during stream

Thanks for the advice, switching from the secondary VA server to the San Antonio server actually worked. I managed to stream without pausing once. I'll keep an eye on it over the next week but for now thanks a lot for your help Voxletum and Dodgepong :)
