I'm trying to record gameplay footage and have tried several settings. The two softwares I've used are OBS and GeForce Experience overlay to record at 1080p 60 fps.
The issue i'm facing is that OBS recordings have 1-2 second frame drops but they're fairly far apart yet close enough to ruin the experience. Meanwhile GeForce overlay has no issues whatsoever. I'm not sure what the reason is but I'll post my settings and specs for reference
i3 10100F
GTX 1050ti
16 GB DDR4
OBS Settings:
Encoder: NVENC (Tried x264 but wasn't quite working)
CBR:10000-20000 Kbps / CQP: 14
Key frame interval: 2 (I've tried 1 and 0 too)
Preset: Quality (I've tried Performance, Max Quality and Max Performance)
Profile: main (tried high)
Look Ahead: Unchecked
Psycho-T: Checked
Max B Frames: 2
Downscale Filter: Lanczos, I've tried Bicubic and the others too
FPS: tried 30 and 60
Resolution: tried 720p and 1080p
I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong with OBS or why the frame drops happen when the Geforce overlay has no issues. OBS offers more customization which is why I want to use it if possible. Can anyone offer some insight because youtube videos aren't helping
