Question / Help Rainmeter with OBS

hi. I've used the search function and nothing came up regarding this issue.

So the issue I'm having is when I have aero disable, obs will not display rainmeter. However, it can be displayed when aero is enabled but this means my fps will drop a bit and I can't use stream privacy. Is there a method to display rainmeter while aero is disabled?

Thanks!

have you tried to add Software Capture -> Window Capture -> select the window and place it on the screen?

If this is what I think it is, then it's a desktop/sidebar gadget, and those will only capture with either Aero enabled, or with "Capture Layered Windows" enabled. In both scenarios StreamPrivacy won't work. So I'm afraid there isn't a solution, short of using Inner Window Capture with Aero enabled as a substitute for StreamPrivacy.

I have tried this but I don't see it in the drop down menu.

Yes. It is a desktop gadget. That's a bit unfortunate. I was also thinking that using inner Windows Capture would be one of the solutions. I guess having a 2nd monitor would have to suffice.

Thank you for the replies!

I figured out how to record with OBS without frame drop. You turn areo off, you do a standard monitor capture and make sure "Captured Layered Windows" is checked as well as "compatibility mode." that should give you the ability to capture Rainmeter without frame drop.
