after QVSHelper was killed message the video I was recording refused to play outright. I found a way to mostly fix it and now the video portion plays fine in MPlayer, but i have no idea how to extract it to sort it all out. the Audio seems to play fine in VLC, so i've stripped it with that, but I've no idea what I'm doing with Mencoder to strip the video, rencoded, raw or otherwise.
At this point I'm considering using OBS to record the MPlayer window, because it looks fine, I'm positive that would cause even more stupid frame rate issues though, so if anyone knows how to make Mencoder do the same as Mplayer already is, but then save the file in a working format (even raw AVI) I'll be so grateful
