Question / Help QuickSync very bad performance

Hi I've got a problem, I tried the QuickSync solution and I have followed every step correctly, I can enable it and so on, but when I turn my stream on I only get about 20 fps (which is bad because I want 60 fps). This is weird because I have seen others get 60 constant fps without any problems at all, yet they have worse parts than I do.

I can't figure out what the problem is.

This is the guide(s) I followed

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g7iUY5UJsLI (this kid even has the same motherboard as I do, but I have a 3570k)

I have tried to google it but nobody seems to have had the same problem. I updated the iGPU-drivers but to no avail.

I do use that on my desktop, in-game I don't.

EDIT: Just noticed, I get black screen with Game Capture..
EDIT2: Nvm fixed that, had the wrong video adapter selected.
EDIT3: Fixed the FPS problem, disabled Aero and all is good except the in-game performance, not to talk about how high the CPU usage is. The others I've seen have about 10% CPU usage.. Any idea?

Here's the log

EDIT: I did some testing.. And for some reason, if I start the recording while on desktop and start the game I get low framerate and stuttering
But if I would start the recording while in-game (hotkey) there wasn't any stuttering or framerate problems..?

Tested some more and I now have one scene with these sources: Webcam, CSGO (game capture) and Desktop (monitor capture). The FPS drop occurs only when I have the desktop source CHECKED, when I leave it unchecked there is no problem whatsoever. Is there currently a monitor capture problem because of the virtual screen?

sandy bridge qsv is actually worse than ivy
if you are using windows 7 make sure to disable aero when using monitor capture else just keep using game capture and some sort of blackscreen

I have disabled aero, and yet there's only in-game fps drops when I have the monitor capture enabled or checked.

But why do you have a monitor capture in the same scene as your game capture?
Move it to its own scene, that way it wont capture the Monitor while you are ingame. Overall, unless you want to upgrade to win8, I would also recommend to get rid of the Monitor capture as Rich and the others already stated.

I had two scenes separated, one for the game and one for the desktop, but it didn't seem to matter. Only way to "fix" it was to not use the desktop scene at all. Therefore I put the two in the same scene and just unchecked the monitor capture as soon as I needed it, but it's pretty.. Annoying.

How does it make a difference if I upgrade to win8?

Also, yeah I know that the monitor capture should go, but I want to record my desktop because I haven't really got anything else to show whenever I'm not in-game.

Honestly, just read the documentation. The following is taken directly from the included help file:

Monitor capture on windows 7 and windows vista
On windows vista and windows 7, monitor capture is the least efficient, I repeat, least efficient method of capture. On windows 8, however, it is highly efficient and is done entirely via graphics processor memory, and is perfectly fine to use. If you're using windows vista or windows 7 I would recommend only using this if you absolutely need to capture your desktop. Otherwise use window capture or game capture, as they are far more efficient. If you absolutely must use this on windows vista/7, you must disable aero (in video settings) or turn off aero in windows, otherwise capture will be even less efficient. You cannot capture games running in fullscreen mode with this capture method

Monitor capture on windows 8
On windows 8, monitor capture is highly efficient due to new directx features only allowed in windows 8, which microsoft could have easily implemented into windows 7 but chose not to because why improve an older operating system when they can force people to upgrade to newer operating systems for extra cash. ...Anyway, monitor capture on windows 8 is very fast and efficient, and is done almost entirely by the graphics processor with little CPU usage at all. You cannot capture games running in fullscreen mode with this capture method
