Question / Help QuickSync + Quality Balance

Seeing how QuickSync is a hardware based encoder, I suspect that it doesn't follow the settings in OBS because those are settings for x264. So... simple question which hopefully has a simple answer: using QuickSync encoding, does quality balance have any effect on video quality?

Don't use QuickSync, problem solved. And I'm not even joking. The thing of it is, no matter what you do, QuickSync's quality is fairly much limited. And with each passing generation, Intel promises to improve on its quality... but, so far...

I don't know the answer to the question (I don't use QuickSync and don't know many technical details about it), but you can always just test it and find out yourself.
