Quicksync.H264 vs X264 encoder for recording and virtual camera?

Hi there,

I am using OBS for recording learning videos (like this one: https://youtu.be/czhpVYSU8o4) and I'm still trying to optimize my settings.

The machine is a MS Surface Pro 7 (Intel 5) with Windows 11 and a Logitech BRIO webcam. I am recording in 1080p.

What would be the recommended settings to get the best quality results?
Which encoder would suit my needs best?
Here's my current configuration:

Which settings would be best for Zoom-Calls (with the OBS Virtual Camera)?
Same as for recording?
I want to be aware of performance in Zoom, which would be more important than image quality.

Using the virtual camera does not involve any encoding, the quality always matches your OBS canvas size / frame rate. For good quality recording, use Simple output mode and pick one of the presets.
