  • Hello all from Greece. I use x264 with these streaming settings

hHPxUBN.jpg

with max ~ 565kb/s @ 50FPS when i stream. No problems at all obs and twitch are ''GREEN'' and my stream is watchable. My upload speed is 1021 Kbps. The only problem i get is HIGH CPU USAGE about 85% making my pc lag when i alt+tab and stuff . I made some research and by using Intel Quick Sync you use your on-board integrated i-gpu to encode so u don't tax your cpu.

  • THE PROBLEM

I select Quick Sync all drivers and stuff updated. plugged a monitor to see if it works all ok.

Now when i go LIVE my max Kb/s go sky high and i drop frames without changing any thing just selected Quick Sync
How do i get to stream with my ''old settings(my max kb/s)'' while using Quick Sync

  • HELP PLEASE !!

It will use more of your upload if there is highly moving scenes in the game, so it raises automatically your bitrate and makes those spikes. However, if you see dropped frames, it means that your internet connection is too weak for that bitrate.

You should configure your Quick Sync settings, so it won't be using upload more than you have.

I'm not familiar with Quick Sync, but maybe you should check that "Use custom parameters" box and change both, TargetKbps and MaxKbps to fit your upload speed.

In which resolution you're streaming??

Dude i was streaming nice for my standards with x264 . I just want to stream with quick sync now to get the load of my cpu with the same bitrate as i was with x264. Did u even read the post?

I said that you have to configure Quick Sync's parameters to match your upload/bitrate. What is unclear with that?? :)

If you don't want to do that, just keep using x264 encoder.

What ever i set there i get always 1200kb/s . Do u get it now? Im i salty?

This is a bug with Quick Sync options i suppose. They dont register or something. i also tried to edit the settings from the ''.ini'' file in obs directory

Yeah, I got that. Have you tried that "Use global Max Bitrate" option? If so, then I can't help because like I said before, I'm not familiar with Quick Sync. :)

Ok. :) I'm afraid that I can't help you anymore with this situation, so let's hope that someone with much more knowledge answers to this post.
