So far I have observed the crashes happening when I stop recording locally but it is possible that OBS stops working a lot earlier. Also probability of this happening goes up with the length of the recording session I think.
One important thing I noticed is that QSVHelper.exe does not stop/die on OBS crash. When I restart OBS and start recording again, another instance of QSVHelper starts and this can go on indefinitely to the point where my CPU is at 100% usage.
My PC setup:
Windows 7 Home,
Intel core i5-3570K with Intel HD 4000 graphics (overclocked),
MSI NVIDIA N560GTX-Ti (overclocked by default),
MSI Z77A-G45 gaming motherboard,
8GB RAM.
