Yes. I have my gaming headset powered by my USB. It also is a USB headset. I use the mic on it as an audio source. Just don't want to hear from it.dodgepong said:You're trying to mute all desktop audio for yourself, but not your stream? I'm not sure I follow...that sounds like a strange request.
That won't exactly work. I still need to hear the game that I'm playing on my Xbox from my headset. I guess the best way to do it was the way I was already doing it.dodgepong said:Maybe wear the headphones around your neck and stick the mic up near your mouth?
You can also set your desktop audio device to your normal "Speakers" output, and just don't plug anything into them.
I have my Astro A40 gaming headset connected to my xbox via optical cable. It is powered by USB on my computer. I can hear from both sources. I could just plug my headset into my xbox, then I wouldn't hear my computer at all, but this is inconvenient.dodgepong said:Well, you failed to mention anything about an Xbox. Maybe you should explain your audio setup further, because what you're trying to do still doesn't really make sense to me. Why do you need to not hear desktop audio, but need the stream to hear it?
