Question / Help Quick about the Video Adapter in the test build.

I was wondering if it's possible to have my on-bored graphics(Intel 3000) encode my stream(the GPU side of it) and play on my normal PCI Graphics card for games etc.

Sorry if this has been asked already.

GPUs do not encode video. The GPU is used to render the scene, which usually means grabbing information from the graphics card that is running the game, meaning OBS has to be on the same graphics card as the game. Video encoding is done by the CPU, not GPU.

Also, test build questions should go in the test build thread, not here.

I know that it is rendered by the CPU, that's why i i said the GPU side of it. Thank you for answering my question.

GPUs can't encode. (Generalisation)

To put things in basic terms, CPUs are made to do super complex and advanced calculations, which are used for encoding.

GPUs are made to do simpler calculations, but A LOT more at once in parallel.

The encoder OBS uses is made to use a CPU, and as far as I know, there aren't any good encoders that utilize a GPU.
