Whenever I try to record with NVENC I always get the "Starting the ouput failed check logs for details." pop-up all of my drivers are up to date and so is OBS how would I fix this?

Change your output mode to simple, your recording quality to indistinguishable, your recording format to flv, and your recording encoder to nvenc

Is there a way for me to record with the output mode on advanced and still use NVENC

But wouldnt I have to switch back and forth since I want more advanced options for livestreaming?

Streaming settings and recording settings are stored separately in the settings profile.
