Question / Help Question about the preview window

Just a little question about the preview window when you're streaming OBS, as I've never thought about this before. Is the video preview that is in the OBS window representative of the resolution of your original source, or the downscaled resolution you select in setup?

The reason I ask this, is that I want to make a custom overlay for my stream, and was wondering if I should do it at 1920x1080, as the orginal video source is at this resolution, or if I should create it at the 1280x720 downscaled resolution. Or does it even matter?

the preview is done after the downscaling.. it will be better if you could add the source at 1280x720, but it doesn't really matter.

no, the preview is done before downscaling. it is not representative of your output resolution/scaling
