Question / Help Question about streaming older games

Do older games require as strong a CPU?
It's an old RTS game (aoe 2). Or would the same settings apply no matter what game you're streaming.

The reason I ask, is because with an older game I don't lagg even while streaming with max quality. But, I'm dropping frames. Is this due to my CPU being an i3, or is it a network problem that's causing dropped frames.

(it shows superfast preset, but tried with veryfast as well.. same results)

Here is my ShaperProbe test;

Estimating capacity:
Upstream: 5958 Kbps.
Downstream: 93156 Kbps.

The measurement will take upto 2.5 minutes. Please wait.

Checking for traffic shapers:

Upstream: No shaper detected.
Median received rate: 5824 Kbps.

Downstream: No shaper detected.
Median received rate: 29045 Kbps.

Older games typically run a busy loop rendering as fast as possible, which can easily max out a single CPU core. Without some kind of FPS limiter / vsync or similar, you may not be leaving enough CPU for OBS, especially for a 1080p stream.
