Question / Help Question about quality

I don't even know where to start on this. Basically, I want to be able to stream at a quality that will give me smooth in-game performance, but also look decent on the stream (not really blurry.. able to read text).

Previously, I've been streaming 720p@30fps on my i3 which wasn't terrible for me, but it got to the point to where I was doing bad in-game because there seemed to be a slight delay in my actions (such as aiming to the left, but my shots would aim to the right because that's where my mouse pointer was half a second ago).

Here's my log;

I decided to try a lower resolution downscale, with a better filter which seemed to help.
Is there anything else I can do?

Here's the vod;

If you notice, it doesn't look terrible.. but I was hoping there was maybe a way for a small increase in quality without sacrificing performance. Also, top left is my FPS.. it's between 50-60 which does impact my performance a bit.

The encode looks good to me, but from your description it sounds like your game is being starved of CPU compared to what you'd like.

You have a hyperthreaded dual core. Which means OBS is going to use 6 threads for your two cores. Which is probably too many. Besides this I really have no ideas.

Try using the Advanced page custom command "threads=x", where X is a number between 1 and 6. Six is your default, so I'd start at 5, test, and move down if your stream is still fine. As you move the number of threads lower, your in-game performance should get better, but it has a chance of making your encode/stream worse. Hopefully you can find a sweet-spot where encode/stream isn't impacted and your game plays better.
