There's something I'm curious about. I use OBS in conjunction with my Elgato HD60, which has a bitrate limit of 40,000. On OBS, I use a variable bitrate. Some of the videos I make end up with bitrates in excess of 60,000. This leads me to wonder; is the Elgato's bitrate limit pertinent in any way? Does it only apply if I use it by itself, or is going above 40,000 pointless with my setup?
