Hello all! I am making this post because for the longest time now, I can never find a solution to my problem. Everyone always reply's what the problem actually is but never gives a solution towards it.

I was wondering how I could fix the bitrate loss between the original video and the after youtube uploaded one. This is after processing is complete and all quality inputs are there, the problem is, you can clearly see the bitrate is really low and really bad quality.

Uploaded video for comparison - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=39iPjMDWj2o

Please tell me why the quality is extremely reducted after uploading.

OBS is recoding every video with some secret, internal, fixed, unalterable settings. Even if you upload lossless material, you video is recoded and becomes pixelated. The only thing you can do is with OBS to capture, postprocess and upload exactly one of the resolutions Youtube is presenting the video, i. e. one of 2560x1440, 1920x1080, 1280x720 to avoid additional quality loss due to additional rescaling. With 1920x1080, your upload should have a bitrate of 10000-12000. You can also upload material you originally recorded with CQP or CRF rate control. It's all mangled and normalized by Youtube recoding. It's the big equalizer of video recoding: every video is equally reduced and uglified. High contrast and high motion content, as well as content with sharp edges, such as your example, suffer much more than smooth and slow content.

Right click your youtube upload and click stats for nerds.. you'll see your codec is avc (youtube gives this to 1080p uploads as standard unless you get high traffic to a video) to counter this render your video out in 1440p and you'll be given the correct codec (vp.09) which results in a lot higher video quality!

(I have a post up looking for help with sped up obs recordings if anyone can help)
