Good day. I am looking to do some recordings for my gaming community so that i can put together a trailer. I am hoping to record segments at the highest quality youtube offers/allows, which i believe is 1080p?

I have never recorded or edited videos before. I did a little bit of streaming back in the day but this is my first serious time. Wondering what exactly can i handle? What would be the best settings for me to use? I did some testing on my own first and looked at the quick guide. However, my few quick recordings were all blurry. One of them actually didn't show me moving, it just showed a "picture".
The games i wish to record are starmade & modded minecraft (FTB with a 128x texture pack and shaders). For those interested.
