QuakeLive is a free openGL game (on Steam or from www.quakelive.com) which is often streamed.
All of the streamers using OBS have a problem where the game view added with 'game capture' freezes on the 'awaiting gamestate' pane between map changes, or when first joining a server.
This is obviously a problem as any streamer without a 2nd monitor checking the stream won't know that their game is actually not being streamed.
I always assumed it was a bug with swapping between fullscreen and windowed mode, but
Just now I had QL windowed, OBS behind mirc, the map changed, and though my quakelive client is fine, OBS just stopped on awaiting gamestate in the live local preview window itself as the map changed while I was watching.
My quakelive has been up for ages, it's not like OBS has only recently captured the window, it can't be a timing thing.
When people had complained before I checked the stream and found no problem on the twitch.tv website so assumed it was a browser thing, but now I've found swapping fullscreen and back makes OBS fix it again when it messes up. And I was very surprised to see it happening locally in the preview. My webcam overlay in OBS is unaffected during all of this, showing no problems.
Quakelive at this point is doing a lot of opengl stuff to begin rendering the scene, OSB is probably losing its context or hook or something.
Can you look into this, if it's not fixable on OBS's side, could you say why and I can try and get the QuakeLive developers to look into this, they would like peoples streams to be smooth.
