Question / Help QSV quality seems to be worse than in older versions of OBS

Hi there!

I got an i5 2500 with HD 2000 and i got a question.

Why does the quality of QSV became worse than what it was before? It looks more distorted and pixelated even if i up the bitrate than what it was before.

Are you guys optimizing this to the newer versions of QSV and thats why the quality became worse on my 1st generation sandy bridge?

If yes which version of OBS should i use again for better quality on my "old" cpu with qsv?

Thanks in advance!

Sandy Bridge is Sandy Bridge, there are no "generations" for it. However, some Sandy Bridge processors only have the HD2000 iGPU, while others (like the 2500k and 2600k) have the HD3000. QSV quality would likely be a bit higher on the HD3000 chips, but the real improvements aren't until Haswell.

As for optimizing for newer QSV only, I'm not sure. Would have to ask Palana, he's the QuickSync guy around here.
