Question / Help pushtotalk not working with footswitch

Right, so i'm currently trying to set up my footswitch as my pushtotalk for videos. Whenever I match the obs hotkey to my footswitch key it doesn't recognize that i'm pushing the footswitch. I've tried multiple keys just to make sure something wasn't interfering. Would appreciate any help with this :).
 
If it is one of those foot pedals that would be used for speedrun splits they usually only have one input such as a key so they do not work dynamically like holding down a mouse button.
 
Oh, so it probably doesn't stay activated after I push it? I'll take a look at the configuration app in a while.

I at least know with my foot pedal it does not work because it only can give a keystroke input and cannot hold.
I got mine for pretty cheap off amazon.

yeah i did the same thing, it was like $10. well that sucks. I wonder if I could tinker with autohotkey scripts or something :).
