Bug Report Push to Talk

I have my PTT key set to F8 (remapped to ALT using Razer Synapse). It works fine except when I push SHIFT, ALT, or CTRL in combination with my PTT key. It doesn't seem to enable the microphone when it is pushed. Thanks for any suggestions.

EDIT:
Using version .461a on WIn 8 x64

Ok, so I tested with other keys that were not F8, such as the regular alphabet keys and numpad....all seem to have the same issue. If you have SHIFT, CTRL, or ALT in combination with your PTT it will not activate your microphone. Also, it seems that you need to run the program in administrator to get PTT to work at all inside of games.

I have the same problem. Also tried all the buttons. Also pressing Shift, Alt, Cntrl...
The problem persists when running as administrator

I think what you might be referring to here is the order in which you press your keys -- currently it's designed so that you have to press the modifier keys first, and then the primary key. So for example, pressing Ctrl-A won't work if you press A, then control. Or is it just broken?

No, what I am talking about is not a combination of keys for PTT. I have PTT set to just a single letter/button. If I have, per your example, my PTT set to the letter 'A'. And say in a game I am sprinting with shift or crouching with control, and then I want to communicate to my teammates, they hear me on mumble but the viewers on stream cannot. It just won't activate the PTT on OBS. I would have to let go of SHIFT/CTRL to get it to transmit. The modifier keys are actively preventing PTT from transmitting.

I haven't tested it the other way around (pressing my PTT then a modifier) yet. I will do that and see what happens. But either way I think it's important that no matter what combination you hit your keys, modifier or otherwise, it should active the PTT within OBS. Unless of course your PTT is actually set to CTRL + A, then you would have to hit CTRL then 'A' (in that order) to activate the PTT in that case.

Ah, okay, I see the problem. Thank you for pointing it out. I'll adjust it that way then.

I just wanted to say that with .463a Test 4, PTT seems to be working as intended. I can now press any of the modifier keys and my PTT still works. I didn't see it in the patch notes but thought I would give it a try anyways. And viola! Good work.

I haven't tested it in a live environment, just the preview stream. But I would imagine it working just fine. I'll post back if not.

Sorry to dig up this topic, but I have the same problem.
When I am pressing Alt, Shift or Ctrl, Push to Talk doesn't seem to work in OBS. Doesn't show it transmitting and viewers hear my voice cutting off, when I press any of those buttons while talking.

I am using V0.52.07b aquaman build

From this topic I understand that this issue has been solved, but It is there for me.

Any way I can fix this?

Grtz

Ps. I am new to OBS and love it :)

You can adjust the way it works in the latest test builds using the new option in advanced section. You can make it so a hotkey can be active while other modifiers are used as long as the actual hotkey combo is pressed, or you can make it so that other alt/ctrl/shift combinations are restricted. This is done because some FPS players like to be able to use hotkeys such as PTT while crouching.
