Hardware:
Avermedia C985
PS3
REI HDMI Splitter 1x2 - I've heard several accounts of this successfully stripping HDCP, and mine works fine.
Software:
Avermedia RECentral
OBS version 0.638b
Windows 7
I'm trying to record my PS3 with my Avermedia. The Avermedia is HDMI input only, and thus I've had to deal with HDCP. My splitter works fine for splitting HDCP on my PS4 and PS3.
RECentral is able to record a both of the games I've tested, Call of Duty Black Ops and Borderlands 2.
OBS however, is only able to record Black Ops, and when recording Borderlands 2 the screen remains black and I can only hear the audio. Upon closing Borderlands 2 and going back to the XMB, the screen sometimes glitches out on OBS but not RECentral (this can be fixed by turning "preview stream" on and off).
For some reason, Black Ops records perfectly fine on both programs, but Borderlands 2 only works in RECentral. I make no changes to settings on either program upon switching games.
I'm not running both programs at the same time, obviously the capture card can only display to one program at a time.
XSplit couldn't run Borderlands 2 either, it showed the XMB but when the game started said that the camera (Avermedia) couldn't be found.
How can I get OBS to record Borderlands 2? I'd rather stream using OBS rather than RECentral for the stream customization options.
My PS3 display settings has the TV connector set as HDMI, 1080p.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
