Proper Document Camera Settings for Virtual Camera and Zoom?

I am using a Canon EOS RP with the Canon Webcam Utility Beta on an older Macbook Pro. When I try to set up my Canon EOS RP for use as a document camera I find I really need to rotate the image 90 degrees. Unfortunately, this is not a feature the OSX version of Zoom seems to have. So...I tried setting up and using OBS. Other than being a bit latent on my older Macbook Pro, it more or less works.

My problem is the Preview and Program view framing in OBS do not seem to line up. Similarly, what is shown in zoom isn't framed the same as what shows up in Program within OBS. My gut tells me I need to adjust some settings within OBS that relate to resolution, aspect ratio, etc, so as to align with what Zoom is expecting for a second camera but I am not sure where to start.

For those less familiar with Zoom, a document camera is a form of "Screen Share". It is in the "advanced" tab of Screen Share as "Content from a second camera". See: https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/201362153-Sharing-your-screen

Are there any guides or other documentation I should review for this? Any other suggestions or pointers to help me fix things?

Changing my base resolution in OBS seems to have solved the problem.

I skimmed the following link: https://phototacopodcast.com/can-canon-eos-webcam-utility-beta-do-1080p/ and used the webcamera test website it mentions to validate my camera resolution. (See: https://webcamtests.com/).

I also watched a YouTube video that briefly talked about what Base Canvas in OBS does. I didn't listen too careful, just enough to get a feel for things.

From this I confirmed my camera was producing 1024x576 into the laptop at an aspect ratio of 1.78. This aspect ratio happens to line up with the 16:9 ratio Zoom seems to like. I then changed my Base Canvas Resolution and Output Resolution in OBS to both be 1280x720. This seemed to do the trick. What shows up in both the Preview and Program windows in OBS lines up with what shows up in Zoom when I share "Content from a second camera" in Zoom Screen Share.

Would a video capture card such as a CamLink 4K radically improve the resolution I am getting out of my Canon EOS RP camera? Would the difference be noticeable in Zoom?
