Projector screens are mixed up after restarting

Hello all,

I use OBS 27 on Window 10, on my laptop. Two identical (same model) cameras, C1 and C2, are connected the laptop and used in OBS. I also have two identical external monitors, M1 and M2, connected to the laptop, in extended desktop mode.

I start full screen projection of C1 on M1 and C2 on M2. All works great. I also selected "save projectors" option from preferences, so when I restart OBS projectors come up automatically. Nevertheless, when I restart the computer (not just OBS, but the computer) sometimes, but not always, they get mixed up. That is, C1 is projected on M2 and C2 on M1.

Two cameras and two monitors are exact same models. So it makes sense if they are mixed up, right? After all they would have same identifiers/names in operating system. Fortunately, cameras are always recognized in correct order. The names I give for them in OBS do not get mixed up. So, I assume it is about the external monitors. OBS sees my monitors as (2) ModelName and (3) ModelName. 2 and 3 reflect, I assume, the order they are recognized. Interesting part, Windows OS does not confuse them. They are always placed in the right order in the extended desktop mode. That is, M1 is always on the left of the main desktop and M2 is on the right. By the way, I do not change the ports they are connected between restarts.

Is there a way to fix the mapping of cameras to monitors after a restart? I would try to change the monitor names in the Windows settings so that two would have different names, but I think it is not possible since Windows reads them from the device driver or from hardware.

Thanks!
