I am fairly new to using OBS Studio software. I created a profile to use for one kind of live stream I'm producing (put a great deal of work into it). I like most of the graphics. So I duplicated that profile and thought I could make editions to it for anther (similar) broadcast. However, when I started editing the duplicate profile it made the same changes in the original profile!

So, I tried created a completely new profile (no duplication). The same issue arose. All the scenes and sources were duplicated from the very first profile I created. All editions the third profile are linked to the previous two. Please help!

Profiles are collections of settings. Scene collections are collections of scenes. You will want to make a new scene collection, not a profile.

What you want is a new Scene Collection.

Profiles are for things like your streaming account login, resolution, framerate, downscale, things like that.
Scene Collections are just what it says on the tin. Different sets of collected scenes. Also contains your audio settings.

Thank you so much guys! Learning as I go. Jumping into virtual versions of everything... it's been a steep learning curve navigating new software.

I'd recommend looking up Nerd or Die's OBS Tutorial video series on YouTube. It covers a lot of the basics, gotchas, and will ensure you have a solid foundation to work from.
