Question / Help problems with the recording

So, I'm using OBS on my Laptop to record me play Minecraft. When I play the records using VLC, and try to jump to a certain time, the playback suddenly became green and pixelated, as you can see below. This only occures when i try to jump to a certain time, but if i play the records normally (without skipping), the playback is as it should be.

I think it has something to do with the BitRate, so I try to increase/lower it, still no changes.

For details:
I'm using Lenovo Z40-70 with Intel Core i5-4210U, RAM 4 GB, & NVDIA GeForce GT 820M
The OBS Recording settings is :

This is the first time I'm using OBS Studio and I posting something like this in the forum. I did search on google about it, but it didn't solve my problem.

Please follow the recording guide for making recordings. Notably, don't use bitrate when recording, use a quality factor (CQP, ICQ, LA_ICQ, or CRF depending on what you have available). Don't record to MP4 - use FLV, or MKV if you need multiple audio tracks (most people don't).

Also, please post a log file. The logs contain concise and detailed information and are easier to inspect than screenshots of settings.

Thanks for the reply. Here's the log file : https://hastebin.com/soqepapada

The problem is solved when I use CRF, but the playback is't smooth, not like when I use CBR. Is it because my Hardware? (changing to CQP, ICQ, and LA_ICQ doesn't help)

About the audio track, currently I'm using 1 track, the Screenshot above is when I try to record multiple audio track, so, its okay to keep using MP4 right?

If playback isn't smooth at a given CRF value, go higher. You need to find a value that gives you the best balance of quality and performance for your hardware and software.

Wow, I think its solved now. Don't need to increase or lower the value, just close the browser and VOILA, its running smoothly. Looks like I need more RAM.

Thank you very much.

Yes, you do.

I should have specified, but if you used Simple Output Mode, you wouldn't have to fuss with the CRF values or many of the other settings. It does, however, only support one audio track.

No. MP4s write their file metadata at the end of the file instead of at the beginning. If your computer crashes while recording, it's not written, and the file becomes unreadable and unrecoverable.

Thanks for the explanation, it's a new information for me. I will keep that in mind.
