Hey all,

Having some strange problems with OBS and getting the correct output resolution with some consoles. This is through "Video Capture Device", no scalers or other transcoders in between. All consoles are connected via RGB cables to a H/V sync converter.

Example video: http://youtu.be/Gn9h8aZSukc
base resolution in OBS: 1280x720
downscale resolution in OBS: none
detected resolution from input source: 720x240 59.9402 YUV2
open broadcaster software version: v0.542b
capture card: StarTech PEXHDCAP

This happens to me (so far) with Playstation 1, Playstation 1 titles on PS2, and SNES, all NTSC. Playstation 2 titles seem to have no problems with the resolution/aspect ratio. (PS2 is detected at 720x480).

If I run this same feed through Amarec 2.31 and increase the view size, the aspect ratio seems to be fine. Please see this screenshot: http://i.imgur.com/Z25ZJVh.jpg

If I change the "view" in Amarec to the detected capture resolution, though (720x480). we end up with the stretch. :/ My assumption is this is a issue with the capture card capturing at 720x240 instead of 320x240, but is there any way for me to adjust or correct the resolution/aspect ratio in OBS?

Changing the base resolution in OBS doesn't seem to help, and changing the resolution in the device settings results in a red screen (assuming it can't sync or whatever). Clicking "edit" on the scene doesn't help either, as you can't change the aspect ratio (i.e. it keeps scale).

Any ideas? I don't want to use Amarec to do screen capture for this. :/ Thanks!

You can hold shift while resizing to ignore aspect.
