Question / Help Problems regarding multiple audio lanes

Hello guys,
I don't know what to do anymore, I feel like I have tried everything.

I am trying to record my desktop audio and my microphone audio on different tracks, but it just won't work.
In the mixer -> advanced audiosettings, I checked Desktop and Mic for track 1 (for streaming), just Desktop for track 2 and just Mic for track 3.
In settings -> output -> advanced -> recording I enabled tracks 2 and 3.

So when I actually record, if there are no sounds coming from the desktop, it records my mic just fine.
However, if I speak at the same time as my desktop produces any audio output (videos on yt, music on spotify, game sounds etc.) it doesn't pick up my Mic sound anymore, even though it still clearly shows in the Mixer that there is audio input on both scales.

This is my latest log, first recording attempt is me talking into my mic without and desktop audio output, second recording attempt is me talking into my mic with desktop audio output.

Something else I have discovered:
When I let a youtube video run, then start recording and start talking, it only picks up my mic audio.
When I start recording, then start a youtube video and start talking, it only picks up my desktop audio.
Could this even be a general OBS bug that can't be fixed on my end? I just don't know anymore.

As far as I see, you correctly set up multi-track audio recording in OBS.
Be aware, that any media player will playback only one track at a time. To hear a different track, you have to switch tracks in the audio configuration of the media player. A media player will never mix two tracks and replay both at once. So if you record your desktop to one audio track and your mic to another, you will always have either desktop only or mic only.
What track is chosen by the media player for playback is somewhat uncertain. Some media players choose the first track, some file format has a "default" mark, some media players may even scan for audio activity in the first few seconds of the track.

So go into your media player audio settings and look for the audio tracks available for play back. You will most certainly find 2, one with your desktop audio only and one with your mic only.

Thanks for the reply, definitly makes sense. The big problem though is when I insert the recorded video into Premiere Pro, it does not create any other audio lane but the one that is audible in the media player (using windows media player as default), so I am sure only one lane is being picked up by obs.
Edit: Yes, I made sure I enabled more than 1 audio lane in premiere pro.

Stuff I tried so far:
-played with various obs settings (taken from yt videos/other forums that allegedly should fix the problem)
-uninstalled and reinstalled obs (profile included)
-uninstalled and reinstalled Realtek HD Audio driver
-plugged the 3.5mm jacks (I hope this is the right translation) coming from my headset directly into the mainboard at the back of my pc instead of using the front panel
-disabled all other audio devices
-ran windows troubleshooting for both audio input and output (without any resolutions)

Alright, I guess everything is working now.
When the problem first appeared, I thought I already used the right obs settings for multi-audio, but that just seems not to be the case. Whenever I did a test recording after using the right obs settings, I just opened the video in the media player and thought I still had problems because I could just hear 1 audio lane. Inserting a fresh recording into Premiere Pro however, multiple audio lanes appear.
So big thanks to you Koala, you basically fixed my problem i never had, I should have just put a newer recording into Premiere Pro instead of watch the test recordings in the media player.
