Question / Help Problems regarding Elgato Game Capture in OBS

Hello.
I was trying to configure a game capture device today "Elgato Game Capture HD" to play my PS2/3/WiiU games on stream.

Haven't tried PS3 games yet
PS2 games run decently
WiiU games have Video and Audio stuttering (like the game video just abruptly stops along with the sound)
But it doesn't happen right away, for a while it looks and works totally fine.

Looks something like this (minus the audio): https://youtu.be/K-Tkny_uOsA
It happens everytime regardless of which settings i set.

My CPU is i7 4770 @ 3.40GHz
GTX 770
8 GB RAM

My recent log looks something like this : https://gist.github.com/476e530a231d0461911a8d1e75ca592e

When i try to run the WiiU through Elgato's own Game Capture software, it works absolutely fine.

I did but there was no audio at all... same with the (Wave Out)

In fact if i set it to Wave Out, there won't be any video OR audio at all.

How are you checking that there's no audio at all?
Because if you're expecting to hear the sound without turning audio monitoring on when set to capture only, and you're not checking the recordings afterwards, that's the wrong thing to expect.

Sorry, i'm really bad at this. Normally i just click whatever looks familiar and if it works, i just go with it. I will try to change the audio next time i connect the WiiU to it (trying to connect the PS3 for now) But how can audio setting make video stutter?

That capture method causes oddities in the audio subsystem of windows that directly causes the stutter. Its actual stutter level varies from system to system.

Audio monitoring does not cause the stutter, because of a different flow for the audio.

You learn something new everyday. Thank you for your explanation, i will change the audio when i can and see if things improve.

So i pretty much had a similar problem with PS3, Only this time i didn't even have any video. While that sorted itself out, i set the audio to capture only. As expected there was no sound, so i recorded a short clip..... it had both audio and video. Which brings me to a question, since both are there when recording (and probably even streaming) how can i see or hear the audio while ?idle? if that makes sense.

It feels weird when you're trying to configure a scene, you already have a video going but there's no sound at all

EDIT: Let me rephrase that. How can i check if the audio is actually there without recording a clip or streaming?

How I have mine set up is:

Elgato audio is capture only. Then make sure when audio in the game is happening, you see the audio levels in the main OBS screen moving for your Elgato.

I then can listen to my console audio through the TV I have it plugged into from the capture card's hdmi out.

Does that work? I've also read that PS3 is a weird one where you might need an adapter and that you can't just plug the hdmi directly into the elgato.

Change the audio capture type back to capture only.

I'm actually experiencing a similar problem, but in reverse - I monitor with a separate device, and whenever the GCHD is set to capture only, I get audio problems. Setting it to the desktop sends the audio out just fine, at the expense of losing GCHD levels in the mixer. When I use my HD60, having the audio set to capture only doesn't cause any issues. Why is that?
