I use music making tools (Ableton) on a Mac and remote to a Windows 11 machine that I use to record video using OBS. I just want to record the audio from my mac. I also have a usb camera and it records video just fine. It can record the audio from the camera's mics, but I want the direct audio.
The Mac Windows Remote tool doesn't handle sending audio, so I'm trying to use a simple Audio device (Behringer UCA222 USB interface) connected to an output of my Mac's audio interface (RME Fireface)
I've had a challenge getting it to recognize the device when I remote to the windows machine, so I've set it up directly with a monitor/keyboard connected temporarily. I got this to work with a different Audio interface but I want to phase that old interface (A roland OctaCapture) out.
I can see audio coming in to the windows machine so far, but it's only mono. It's just listening to the L input of the UCA 222 no matter what I do. I know it's getting a stereo signal . The Behringer doesn't have any driver for settings.
I do know the windows machine (An Intel NUC, can only get mono audio if I use the headphone jack for audio in, hence the need for a sterero sound card, whether it's the behringer or the old roland.
Any ideas? I can't believe this is so hard!
