Problems playing video recorded with OBS

To begin with, I am not well familiar with video editing, encoding etc. I tried to record short statements from people which I wanted to play at certain events. I now recognized that audio is quite well recorded however when I play the video its more like a frozen image that is moving into another frozen image from time to time.
I did not change any of the settings after installing OBS and was wondering what I can do in order to make it a real video without frozen images.
I already tried to google for it and converted it with handbrake or played it in VLC without any luck. Any suggestions what to do?

OBS is a powerful, flexible tool with LOTS of recording options, some of which aren't compatible with Microsoft's heavily limited Media Player. Using default recording to MKV, then letting OBS remux to MP4, I don't have any issues playing OBS videos on my less than 1yr old decent Tier 1 business class computer.

real-time video encoding is demanding... so you need to first try the video on a more powerful device and see if issue is computer/playback, or the recorded video? if playback issue, then maybe some OS housecleaning, and/or codec update,
On the other hand, if source recording is stumbling, then you need to optimize your OBS settings, or maybe even OS, or maybe needed a more powerful computer... it depends. You haven't posted enough info for me or someone else to provide much more in the way of detail recommendations
