Hello folks,
I've been trying with using a dual PC setup for streaming, a friend of mine let me borrow his Asus G771jm laptop for a few days and with that I've been trying to make his computer dedicated just for streaming. I already have a Avermedia Extreme U3 capture card and it is totally fine streaming at 720p@30fps (downscaled from 1080p). Obviously I want to utilize the options of the capture card and stream at 720@60fps but it seems like the laptop can't handle that. The CPU load goes straight up to 100% and as a result the stream is skipping way too many frames.
I thought this particular laptop was on the stronger side and my friend has no problem playing AAA titles on that computer. Ultra settings might push it a little but at least mid-high depending on what game.
I'm planning to get a PC dedicated for streaming either way going with my capture card, a laptop would be really great since I can do some casual gaming whenever I'm on the road. I'm usually playing shooter games such as Battlefield 3 and 4, Far Cry, Crysis and CSGO. Initially I planned to get a laptop with similar hardware but now with this issue I'm kind of unsure.
Buying a laptop with better hardware is not an option since who really got the money for that?! xD
I've been looking at perhaps just building a new desktop PC is the ideal outcome, I do after all get better bang for the buck.
So my question follows: Is the Asus G771jm not powerful enough or am I just doing something terribly wrong (settings wise)?
Here is my gaming PC just in case you want to know:
Intel 4930k
Asus x79 Deluxe
GTX 770 SLI
Corsair Vengeance 32GB LP
ADATA 128GB
Seagate Barracuda 2TB
Specs for Asus G771jm:

I apologize for this long post.
Feedback of any kind is appreciated!
