There currently is an issue where if game capture succeeds in capturing the game very soon after the game has only just been started up, it'll always capture the steam overlay. In other words a workaround to this is opening OBS after opening the game instead (for the time being). I'll see about making an option to wait until steam overlay is active before injecting game capture. It's definitely doable.

I really hope this gets addressed soon. It's potentially a very big privacy concern if a streamer were to accidental show Steam chat messages if he/she isn't aware of this issue.

Any word on when this will make it into OBS? I'm encountering this issue and I believe I've narrowed down what causes the overlay to be captured in this thread.

Well, is there any update? I'm currently setting up all my scenes in OBS Studio, but I'm not going to use it streaming when the overlay shows. When friends ping me, or people start playing a game, that is not something I want to show on stream. Currently playing multiple games and switching between them, kind of stupid to stop streaming to switch games...

The box is unchecked, yet it does capture the Steam overlay. Going to test the uplay overlay now.

EDIT: The Division testing result: Overlay doesn't show on stream. However, on first launch, my screen was black, but the game did show up in the stream preview :o
