Question / Help Problem regarding streaming and recording.

When I stream or record with the OBS software, my mic audio and webcam are in sync at the start. As the stream or recording move on they go out of sync. The longer the stream or recording the farther it goes out of sync. I've discussed this in the chat a couple of times, but I can't find a resolution. Someone please help! Thank you.

Sometimes switching scene solves this.

If not then you can enable "Force desktop audio to use video timestamps as base for audio time" and "Use Mic QPC timestamps" - Just be aware that this can cause an impact on performance. Also make sure your scene buffer is high enough (700+).

How do I do those things?

there are a few things. elgatos work best when you set them to 1080p not 720p then downscale in the video tab to your preferred streaming resolution. in the elgatos properties, set the resolution to 1920x1080 and since buffering is enabled, set it to 1ms.

your scene buffering is fine, but I would check the audio format for your headset and mic in windows playback and recording devices. double click on each and go to advanced. and set them to a format that has 48000Hz in it.

Third, I saw no webcam in the log you posted but make sure the webcam is at no more than your streaming output, in this case, 720p.

I changed the resolution, I don't know how to "set it to 1ms". I also couldn't find the audio formatting section. And this log should have my webcam in it. Also, where do I change the streaming output to 720?
I'm sorry i'm new so I don't know where things are located.

the buffer for the elgato is right below where you changed the resolution in the video capture device you built for the elgato.

there was no webcam as I went all the way through. that scene will need to be selected with the webcam in it.

you already have streaming output to 720p

I still don't see the buffer thing, and try this one: https://gist.github.com/9257ab70229a68597a6f
This is what you should be looking at. see where it says use buffering (miliseconds)? yeah, check the box and put a 1 where it says 0

Got it! Like I said i'm new, did that log have a webcam?
Yes, now I see the webcam. I would set your whatever audio offset (I think I saw 1500ms last log?) and set the buffer for the webcam to 1500 as well. now you should have everything but the desktop audio insync

I'll give it a try and let you know! Thank you.
