Question / Help Problem I dont even understand

when I record a clip and go to the recordings folder all of the recordings have an internet explorer icon (not sure if related) and when I open the recording it pops up with this open/save and when I click open a tab flashes on my screen but immediately disappears I feel like the internet explorer thing has something to do with it considering I don't have internet explorer but then why would OBS do that? I'm just confused

What's you're File Format in output settings?

I don't see anything named file format in my output settings but I do see recording format

That's the one, the recording format. The file type it saves as.

hmm its says 'flv' don't know what that means

flv is a flash video. Switch it to mp4 or download a program that can play a flash video. See if changing it to mp4 works and get back to me.

worked PERFECTLY! thanks a ton it took a bit for me to reconfigure some other stuff but it worked!
