Hi

I am currently streaming ArcheAge online (Computer Game), my PC freezes up totally while streaming after a certain amount of time 1-4 hours. After the freeze i need to pull the plug and force restart.
This problem only occur when I am streaming this game
I am running it on best graphics settings (Cryengine3).

I have also streamed CAD applications without any problem for hours.

While streaming ArcheAge i did monitor my CPU and GPU temperature, and all seems just fine.

I hope someone here could give me advice on what to change in order to avoid the system freeze.
My system is the following:

2 Screens
-Win 7 | 64 bit
-Asus P6x58-E WS (Mainboard)
-NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 Ti
-Intel(R)CoreCTM)i7CPU 980 @3.33GHz 6core (12 treads)
-24GB Ram 1/2 Cosair Domination + 1/2 Kingson tripple channel.
-MARVELL Raid VD 0 SCSI Disk Device

Streaming while playing a game is almost like playing two games at once. You're using both CPU and GPU in the streaming app as well. Expect it to push your system to its limits and expose instabilities. Especially with something like a cryengine game at max settings.. that's definitely a good way of pushing your system.

It may not necessarily be related to heat, it could be anything to be honest, tiny hardware or driver bugs cropping up that only happen in these rarest of circumstances with these particular components.

I actually had to make a big gigantic post about bluescreens and system instabilities in another forum, guy got pissed at me because I tried to tell him that these things aren't caused directly by the application.

Bumping this because I'm having the same problem. Occurs just on ArcheAge (it uses some fancy thing called hackShield), nothing like that ever happens in any other game. Does seem software related after all since I've never had this problem with any other game, without broadcasting with obs the game runs smoothly without a problem.

P.S. Uploaded a log file, but there is nothing of use on it

Would still love some ideas, tried everything so far - different hardware, different os, different drivers. Same result every time - a hard lockup after a while (sometimes very quick) in the game.

Depends on what hardware you switched. If you used a completely different computer that might be a different story, but right now I'd be more curious about what hardware you -haven't- changed.

different computer (have two) - same result
has to be something with either the game (hackshield does something?) or obs (I don't use any other broadcasting software, but other cryengine games work just as you'd expect them to)

Unless hackshield runs as a driver, it's doubtful that it could cause system freezes or bluescreens though. Generally user level software cannot directly cause blue screens or system freezes, it's almost always drivers or hardware. Not sure what to suggest though unfortunately, but if you do manage to figure out what's going on, please let me know.

After countless attempts and different things tried the solution turned out to be downclocking/downvotaging the GPU. Whether it was the bug in ArcheAge client or OBS or perhaps even ATI drivers somehow, downclocking core by 100-200mhz helped as well as slightly downvoltaging from 1100 to 1065 helped resolve the hard freeze.

Once again, this happened only with OBS and ArcheAge - system would hard lockup after a little of them both running together. I was about to give up on this completely but I got in touch with other people with the same problem and after some attempts we found a solution and it woked well for us all.
