I don't know if this is peculiar to my installation or not, but sometimes the virtual camera will behave like it's on even when it isn't. As a result, you can end up having things visible when you don't expect them to be. As an added safety, I now always switch to a "Nothing" scene when I'm not using the virtual camera.
The code should be really checked carefully to see why this is happening, since this could result in a disaster.
