Question / Help Preview Stream showing red screen

I am wondering if someone can help me out with an issue I am having...

So I purchased my avermedia live gamer portable capture card and my HDMI splitter to begin streaming from my ps4 off my computer so I can get my youtube channel up and running, however every time i think i have applied the right settings and click preview stream i see nothing but a red screen.

However when i link it to another progran RECentral and stream from there it works fine and captures my ps4 onto my PC. Is there something I can change in the settings for this to be fixed?
 
You need to get the avermedia stream engine, and then use the device in OBS through that.
 
I have downloaded it. It worked at first, I had my stream running with my camera and all was operating well, except when i went to preview my stream after that OBS froze, and ever since then it keeps as a red screen when i preview my stream and says that no device is detected. what do i do from there?
