Hi everyone,
What I need to do is very simple but I haven't found any answers anywhere.
I'm using OBS to display on my PC the HDMI signal coming from my PS4 through a capture card (Avermedia Live Gamer HD - PCIe). I don't need to record this signal, I don't need to livestream it, I just need to preview it in the best quality possible in real-time, which I can achieve for the most part EXCEPT when it comes to frame rate.
The preview shows my PS4 feed in real-time in beautiful 1080p. HOWEVER, the preview only runs at a specific frame rate that cannot be changed, I believe 24 or 30fps. I can change the resolution under properties, but no matter what frame rate I choose (low or high), it doesn't change in the preview. I understand the preview is not meant to render the exact same image as the final product, it's only supposed to give us a rough idea.
I know the PS4 is outputting roughly 60p. I know my Live Gamer HD can record 60p at some resolutions, I've done it. And I know PCIe is plenty fast to display 60p in real-time. So how on earth can I make this work? I've tried other software, like Avermedia RECentral, VirtualDub, Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder, etc but they all preview my feed with the same issue.
Where is the problem? Is it software or hardware? Anyone?
Thanks!
