Preview Screen Freezing

I've been having a problem since the recent windows update about a week ago. When i watch the recorded video it seems fine, but the preview screen is frozen and refreshes every few (5-10) minutes to an "updated" frozen screen. This only seems to be an issue when i am recording games, so im not sure whether this has something to do with the GPU, as i have been advised to use my GPU to run OBS, but havent had any issues for at least a year since i changed to the dedicated GPU. Not sure what files would be useful, so i will post my dxdiag and the obs log from my most recent session.
Thanks for your help.

I had big issues with OBS and some other stuff after installing Windows 11 Update 24H2. I ended up rolling back the windows update

Hmm maybe i should also. I think it caused problems with another game recorder called outplay from Overwolf, where when it runs it causes my headphones to lose one of the audio channels, and this happened with a different Overwolf game recorder also. I would rather not have to roll back but i might have to if no one gives a workaround here.

It sounds like the recent Windows update might have introduced compatibility issues with OBS or your GPU drivers. Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue:

  1. Update GPU Drivers:
    • Check if there are new drivers available for your GPU. Sometimes, Windows updates can cause conflicts that are resolved with a GPU driver update.
  2. OBS Settings:
    • Double-check your OBS settings to ensure it's still configured to use the dedicated GPU. Updates can sometimes reset preferences.
  3. Windows Game Mode:
    • If you have Windows Game Mode enabled, try disabling it to see if it resolves the issue.
  4. Rollback or Check Windows Update Issues:
    • If possible, you might consider rolling back the recent Windows update to see if that resolves the problem. Alternatively, check forums or support channels to see if others are reporting similar issues with the update.
  5. Provide Logs:
    • Sharing your OBS log and dxdiag file on forums or with support can help others diagnose the problem. These logs often contain details about errors or conflicts.
Hopefully, one of these steps resolves the issue for you. Good luck!"
